Our clinic(s) are committed to providing legal services on a sliding scale fee, including free services to all individuals and families who are the poorest and most vulnerable in our society: those on fixed incomes/or those whose maximum income is less than 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines as published by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on September 24, 2009 for fiscal year 2010.
In determining eligibility for our pro bono/low-cost legal services other specified factors will be taken into account along with income. Clients must provide proof of income documentation with tax returns, SSI annual statement, SDI annual statements, and SSDI annual statements.
All persons regardless of age, gender, race, religion, disability, and sexual orientation will receive our services.
Fees are on a sliding scale and make up only a small percentage of our income due since our clients come from low-income communities and those who rely on fixed incomes such as SSI-disability and Social disability and Social Security for the elderly.
Most of our operational funds are achieved through fundraising from the public and grants.
